Playground Development Manager

The new role of Play Development Manager will lead and manage a team of playworkers, working with them to develop a playground ethos and culture which reflects the diversity of the area and its community; taking a lead role in the management of the playground structure and other play apparatus; developing and implementing play policies and procedures; supporting the team to develop and deliver new activities; and supporting appropriate fundraising initiatives.

The role will appeal to an experienced playworker who has experience of managing teams. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience of working in an adventure playground setting.

Qualifications & Experience:

Substantial experience of playwork, ideally in a multi-cultural, inner city setting, and the ability to develop and implement a Play Policy and associated procedures that enhance the service the Playground provides to young people and the wider community.

Hours, Contract & Pay:

30 hours a week including evening and weekend work. Job share will be considered for the right candidates

1 year fixed term contract (which will be extended subject to funding)

£35,000 FTE (£26,000 pro-rata) plus contributory pension
