Babyroom Practitioner for The Priory Day Nursery

We  are  recruiting  for  a  Nursery  Practitioner  to  work  in  our  babyroom  at  The Priory  Day  Nursery  in Filton.  This  is  a  full  time  role  – 40 hours  per  week,  year  round.

We  are  looking  for  a  practitioner  with  experience  of  working  with  under-­twos  and  at  least  a  Level 3  childcare  qualification.

Our  area  for  under­‐twos  is  a  welcoming,  homely  space  with  wonderful  bay  windows  and  a separate  cot  room.  The  role  is  to  support  the babies as  they  settle  into  nursery  and  to  work  as  part of  a  team  setting  up  an  engaging  environment;  responding  to  the  children’s needs; working with families  as  a  Key  Person  and  observing,  assessing  and  supporting  each  child’s  development.

Good  communication  skills  with  children,  parents  and  colleagues  are  required  as  well  as  the  ability to  work  in  a  thriving  team.

The  successful  applicants  will  also  actively  promote  and  support  the  safeguarding  of  children  and young  people  in  the  workplace,  ensuring nursery  policies  and  procedures  are  observed  at  all times.

Applicants  must  have  a  good  level  of  education  and  at  least  a  L3  childcare  qualification  that  is  “full and  relevant”.  Experience  of working with  babies  will  be  an  advantage.  Candidates  must  have experience  of  planning,  observation  and  assessment  under  the  EYFS  and  of being  a  Key Person.
