Playworker & BANK Playworkers

These jobs involve providing a fun, safe environment for up to 72 children to relax and play in, both indoors and outside. We drop off/collect children at school during term time.

Qualifications & Experience:

We are looking for play workers to join our busy and successful Afterschool Club and Breakfast Club. You need to be reliable, motivated and passionate about working with children and supporting them in their development. As you will be working as part of a team it is essential that you have good communication and teamwork skills. Experience of working with primary-aged children is desirable but not essential. You must be prepared and willing to learn, and to do any training that may be required of you.This post is subject to receiving two satisfactory references, and an enhanced DBS check.

Experience working with Primary aged children is desirable

Relevant (but not essential) qualifications could include:

  • First Aid
  • Food Hygiene
  • Safeguarding/Child protection
  • Any skill or knowledge that you would be able to share with the children at our setting such as; bush craft, musical ability, sports and dance, arts etc.


Working hours Mon-Fri term time are;

  • 7.25am – 9.00 am Breakfast Club
  • 3.00pm- 6.00pm Afterschool Club

Holiday hours; 8.00am – 6.00pm, Mon- Fri during school holidays (except Christmas)

Ideally we are looking to employ someone who is able to work Tuesdays and Thursdays afterschool club as a minimum. Other days are available and negotiable.

We are also looking to recruit some new Bank workers, so please apply if you are looking for flexible work during the hours stated above.

Contract, Salary & Hours:


Starting £8.72 per hour depending on qualifications

Training available and a salary review due in January
