Experienced Babyroom Nursery Practitioner and Supporting Curriculum Lead for The Court House Day Nursery in Knowle, BS4 2PU
We are recruiting for an experienced Babyroom Nursery Practitioner to work at The Court House Day Nursery in Knowle. This is a full-time role – 40 hours per week, year-round. The nursery is open from 7.30am until 6pm and candidates must be available to work during those times.
This is an exciting role which combines working with the under twos alongside supporting curriculum lead responsibilities.
There are two elements to the role – working as a babyroom practitioner and also supporting as a curriculum lead across the Twos and Baby rooms. The CL element of the role will be overseen by the nursery manager and nursery Curriculum Lead. You will also be expected to step in and lead the babyrooom when the room manager is on holiday.
You will be working in the babyroom as part of the team caring for the children. You will work with children and families as a Key Person and will support the team in observing, assessing and progressing each child’s development, as well as undertaking this yourself for your key children. You will role-modelling good practice to the team and help them learn and develop; leading on the curriculum and understanding of child development.
The curriculum lead role will involve mentoring new and existing staff with knowledge of the EYFS and Development Matters and leading on ensuring engaging room environments and resources to enable implementation of In the Moment Planning.
YOU WILL NEED
At least a Level 3 childcare qualification that is “full and relevant” for early years.
Good communication skills with children, parents and colleagues, and the ability to work in a thriving team and busy environment.
An embedded understanding of child development and how children learn. Experience or knowledge of In the Moment Planning would be an advantage.
An embedded understanding of Development Matters and cohort tracking.
The successful applicants will also actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring nursery policies and procedures are observed at all times.
