Early Years Educator

Early Years Educator
35 hours per week, term time only.
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm.

We are looking for an Early Years Educator to join us at Easton Families. The role will be based in our 2  year old’s room.

Key Tasks

• To be fully involved in observing, assessing and planning activities to suit the interests and ideas of the children.

• To be responsible for the recording and reviewing of the children’s progress through the learning diaries within your key person group.

• To work within the team, developing a range of activities to enable the children to develop to their full potential, while encompassing the policies of Easton Families Nursery and Easton Families Project, taking into account the National and Bristol Standards.

• With the team, to provide and set up interesting, stimulating and varied activities ready for the beginning of each session and ensure safe storage of equipment.

• To participate in staff and planning meetings, supervision and appraisals and to attend training as required.

• With the team, to ensure that all equipment, resources and activities are checked and risk assessments made for health and safety purposes.

• With the team, to ensure all equipment and areas used by the nursery are kept clean and safe.

• With the team, to plan and participate in outings and visits as part of a balanced curriculum and together with the nursery managers ensure they are implemented.

• To ensure parents/carers are kept fully informed through key person responsibilities.

• Easton Families Project seeks to respond to the needs of individuals, therefore many tasks and responsibilities are unpredictable and varied. It is therefore expected that all staff will work in a flexible manner when required, undertaking tasks that have not specifically been covered in their job description.

To work with the Preschool team to provide a stimulating and caring environment which enables each child to develop within this Early Years setting. To be a key person to a small group of children.

Candidates must be able to relate to children, work as a member of a team, be able to work under direction, be able to use own initiative and be energetic, enthusiastic, calm and patient.

Candidates must have:

A relevant childcare qualification (minimum NVQ Level 3; relevant Degree desirable).

Key Person experience.

Experience of planning activities for children.

Use of Makaton and PECS desirable.

Nursery bank staff

Available for hours Monday to Friday

8.30am to 4.00pm Term time only

We are looking for an Early Years Educator to take on regular bank work hours to cover our permanent staff at Easton Families. They will be based in our 2 & 3 year old’s room.

To work with the Preschool team to provide a stimulating and caring environment which enables each child to develop within this Early Years setting.Candidates must be able to relate to children, work as a member of a team, be able to work under direction, be able to use own initiative and be energetic, enthusiastic, calm and patient.A relevant childcare qualification.

(minimum NVQ Level 2; NVQ level 3 desirable.)
Use of Makaton and PECS desirable
