We are looking for additional sessional staff to join our team providing fun, rewarding activities for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, aged 5 – 19. This opportunity is open to anyone who has an interest in working with young people and is passionate about enhancing the life opportunities of people with disabilities.
The Short Breaks service is funded by Bristol City Council, for Khaas to provide weekend and holiday activities for groups of children across Bristol.
You will be part of a team of staff under the direction of a manager and play leader. You will provide support and, with training, personal care to children who may have a range of needs including significant learning disabilities and physical needs. Some children present challenging behaviour.
With your support children will be encouraged and enabled to access activities which can range from craft work, cooking, outdoor pursuits as well as accompanying them on trips and outings.
The successful applicants will be flexible, resilient and reliable. You will need to demonstrate commitment to and understanding of the needs of disabled children. In return you will receive training and support and will be part of a team which is transforming the lives of vulnerable children in Bristol.
Rate of pay is from £8.70 upwards dependent on experience.
