Oldbury Court Out of School Clubs: Level 3 Playsetting Manager

Description of Job role:

Responsible for the day to day running of a new satellite setting at Fishponds Academy as part of Oldbury Court Out of School Clubs.

To develop and maintain a high quality setting in line with the clubs current standards, policies and procedures The position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

To promote, develop, lead and have the managerial responsibility, alongside the clubs managerial team, for a new high quality after school club setting based within Fishponds Academy.

To ensure the welfare of the children remains paramount and children are protected from risk of harm.

Promote a child centred play environment where children feel emotionally secure and able to flourish.

Be responsible for maintaining Health and Safety procedures as well as enforcing and implementing club policies and procedures.

Lead, support and develop an environment which is inclusive for all, recognises diversity and is appropriate to the individual needs of the children and their families.
To develop and maintain positive working relationships with parents, carers and staff of the school, working well as part of the OCOSC staff team.

Developing positive relationships and liasing with the staff of Fishponds Academy and develop systems for sharing of information between the two settings.

Actively promoting the club within the local community and dedicated to fundraising.


The ideal applicant will have excellent managerial, communication and organisational skills and have a thorough understanding of the EYFS framework, equal opportunities and special educational needs.

Qualifications and

Must have

  • Level 3 playwork or equivalent
  • 5 years relevant experience working with children 4-12 years
  • Experience of managing and organising own workload
    Knowledge of OfSted requirements and EYFS framework
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues surrounding children aged 4-12
  • Sufficient understanding and use of English
  • Ability to plan, provide and evaluate a wide range of play and learning opportunities that meet individual children’s needs.
  • Ability to support and develop an environment which is inclusive for all and encourages diversity.


  • Paediatric first aid
  • 2 years managerial/deputy experience in a play or childcare setting
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of managing safeguarding concerns
  • Understanding of the play process and how to support children in their play as well as the playwork principles
    Fundraising experience
  • Minibus driver
