Play Therapist/Support Worker
I am recruiting for a highly skilled individual to work as a therapist/support worker for my two young boys, in North Bristol.
The boys have severe autism and severe learning difficulties. My children are 13 and 14 and unable to communicate verbally and use Makaton.
The ideal candidate will have vast experience of working with children with severe autism and will be experienced in working with children that display challenging behaviour. This position is ideal for those who are looking to start, or to further, a career within SEN. It will offer rewarding experience and the chance to develop a strong skill set.
This role is to provide therapy (training provided) on a one-to-one basis, mainly in the home, and sometimes outdoors.
The boys follow a programme which is based on improving / developing communication, language comprehension, speech production, play skills, self-help skills, fine and gross motor skills. Helping with self-help skills and personal hygiene is required.
Contract & Hours:
After school hours, weekends and school holidays.
Pay: Starts from £15 p.h.
