Rocking Horse Day Nursery: Early Years Practitioner


Early Years Practitioner Job Role:

Early Years Practitioner to initially work with children 14 months – 2 years. Working with a senior group leader. To be a key person to a small group of toddlers. Working closely with parents and other members of the nursery team. Managing observations and reviews. On a day to day providing the care for these young children and planning their learning and educational activities. Ensuring the resources are following the interests of the children. Having a good knowledge of the E.Y.F.S. Understanding the need for a routine.


Person Description & Qualifications:

Someone who is passionate about working with young children and is eager to learn how we work at The Rocking Horse. Someone who enjoys being outdoors. An excellent communicator, fun loving. Someone who has their own ideas and energetic. To be able to work as part of a team.

This person MUST hold a level 3 early years qualification. Would be NICE to have had experience with working with under 2’s but not essential. As long as there is a keen interest. In-house training is available. Would be NICE for this person to have their own interests, forest school, art. D.B.S. will be checked.


Hours, Contract & Benefits:

Full time 40 hours a week – this includes a paid hour break throughout the day. This is fixed although It could be a job share.

This is a permanent contract.

The pay will depend on the level of qualification and experience.
