Out There Out of School Senior Playworker/Session leader

We are a small after school club, based in Brislington/St Anne’s, which places outdoor play and learning at the centre of what we do. We have a high regard for the Forest School Approach and spend the majority of the year outside (from March – October), either in Nightingale Valley Woods, St Anne’s Woods or the local park.

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Play Leader/Session Leader to join our friendly team.

This role will suit someone with experience of working outdoors in a similar role, specifically with children aged 5-11 years old. You must have a level 3 (or higher) qualification in a related area and at least two years’ experience of working with children of primary age.

As the senior play worker/session leader you will have ultimate responsibility for delivering an outdoor, active, engaging session to primary aged children. You will also work as part of team to plan weekly programme of forest school related activities.

You might hold a Forest School leader qualification or have experience of Forest School.

Ideally, you will also have some experience of providing play opportunities in a more traditional play setting as we provide a range of activities throughout the winter months.

You may also have experience of working with children with additional needs and know how to promote inclusion.

Good organisation and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work well within a team. Ideally, you will have some experience managing staff.
