This qualification is aimed at playworkers and volunteers, aged at least 16 years old, who are working in a play environment with children aged 4 – 16 years. The course will include:

  • The play process
  • Supporting children and young people’s freely chosen, self directed play
  • Communication and building relationships in the play environment
  • Equality and diversity
  • Health and safety
  • Safeguarding children
  • Play environment
  • Reflection and evaluation.

CACHE Level 2 Award in Play work is a nationally recognised qualification endorsed by Skills Active, the Sector Skills Council for Playwork and is recognised by OfSTED.

Completion of the Award requires learners to complete:

  • 3 mandatory units.
  • Attendance at 10 taught sessions (term time only).
  • Completion of assignments for a portfolio of evidence.
  • 1 workplace observation.
