This course involves:

  • Reflecting on attitudes towards disability
  • Developing an understanding of the Medical and Social models of disability
  • Examining the meaning of inclusive play
  • Examining the use of language
  • Exploring how to create inclusive activities for different settings
  • Learning new games and ways of adapting them.

NB: You must be able to attend the whole day – it will not be possible to leave early.

Cost:Free for Bristol-based Ofsted registered childcare workers and Bristol BAND members, however a £50 deposit per person booking is required to secure a place. 10% discount to non-Bristol BAND member groups. £70 all others.

Tutors:Alison John. An experienced consultant and disability equality trainer in the field of play, early years and inclusion with personal experience of a 'disabling' world.
