This course will develop your knowledge of healthy eating for children aged 0-5 years and how to introduce this in the childcare setting.

Course Content:

  • Overview of welfare requirements for food and drink for babies 0-12 months and children between 1 and 5 years.
  • Ideas for foods to offer at snack time.
  • How to include learning about food within each of the prime and specific areas in the revised EYFS.
  • Resources available to support you with promoting healthy eating.
  • Cooking activities to do with children.

During the session there will be an opportunity to taste food so please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements when you book (in the section about specific support requirements on the downloadable booking form).

Cost:Free for Bristol-based Ofsted registered childcare workers and Bristol BAND members, however a £50 deposit per person booking is required to secure a place. 10% discount to non-Bristol BAND member groups. £30 all others.
