Out There Kindergartens: Deputy Manager Role.

We are on the lookout for an Early Years Qualified Teacher/Educator who can take on the Deputy Manager role and help lead our Forest School provision.


Location: Stapleton, BS16 1UQ

Days:3 or 4 days a week. Days can be flexible. We are open Monday to Thursday..

Hours: Applicants must be committed to working on a rota and be able to do one early start (7.30am) and one later finish (17:45).

Weeks: We are open 38 weeks a year, term time only. Holiday work is available (see below).

Start: April/May (though we can work to people’s notice period for the right candidate)

Salary: (based on working 34 hrs, 4 days a week)

Between £18,500.00 and £20,753.60 dependent on experience and qualification with a pay review in September


Contract: Permanent

Visits: We encourage visits before submitting an application and ideally like a person to spend a few hours with us in the morning (please note we are closed the week beginning Monday 8th April)

Job Details:

This is a very exciting opportunity to join our team at a senior level and be involved in the overall success and continuous improvement of Out There Kindergarten. We are looking for someone who is on a journey, who embraces the outdoors, who is flexible and adaptable, who is kind and nurturing and who can help lead a team and whole group sessions and activities. You might already have experience as a classroom teacher (or experience of holding larger groups) and be on your Forest School journey.

As well as being the person in charge in the absence of the manager, you will be a key person with your own group of key children. You will be an excellent role model to other practitioners to help ensure high standards of early years care, teaching and learning.

Forest School qualification and experience is ideal but we will consider candidates who show a commitment to our vision and values; Social and emotional wellbeing, Developing Social Skills, Child initiated learning, Nature Connection, Promoting environmental sustainability, Interactive, hands-on learning and Building an Inclusive and Diverse Community.


Please note:

Holiday work is available in October, Easter, May and 3 weeks in the Summer with the option to work all 6 weeks.  Everyone who works at the Kindie is required to work at least one full week (4 days) of a holiday club.
