Who we are…

We are an adventurous and progressive outdoor Kindergarten with a strong focus on child led free play in a nature based setting. Our vision and ethos promotes the following and more; social and emotional wellbeing,  cooperative and collaborative working, child initiated learning and child-led projects, nature-based free play, outdoor learning and social and environmental sustainability. We aim to go off site on a daily basis to engage in Forest School and nature walks. We do this by having a higher adult:child ratios and thorough risk assessments.

Who we are looking for …

Our ideal candidate will be qualified  and experienced in Early Years and have previous experience of working in a Forest School (or nature based) setting. However, we are open to meeting any qualified person who embraces the outdoors and the famous quote;

We are looking for someone who is resilient, high-energy and committed to providing an outstanding early years education in a largely outdoor environment.  You will strongly promote our vision and values as laid out on our website.

You will be familiar with the EYFS statutory requirements and the policies and procedures (including risk assessments) which are crucial to safeguarding children and adults in a woodland environment and nursery setting.

This is a very hands-on, physical and yet highly rewarding role. As a key person, you will have your own group of key children and work alongside the other practitioners to ensure high standards of early years care, teaching and learning. As a Forest School assistant you will support the Forest School leaders to engage in a wide range of forest school activities and nature based play.

We offer great career progression and there is the potential to take on additional responsibilities depending on your qualification and experience.  If you have a Forest School level 3 or SENCO experience we would particularly like to hear from you.


Location: Stapleton, BS16 1UQ
Days/Hours/Weeks: Ideally 4 days a week, approx 34 hrs a week, Monday to Thursday (though we will consider applicants who can commit to 3 days a week). Term time only.
Start: As soon as possible and no later than Monday 15th April
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Actual Salary for working 34 hrs  week/ 38 weeks a year between £16,929.01 and £18,411.41 dependent on qualifications and experience (full time equivalent £23,753.60 – £29,640.00)
