In-depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements and the care and educational needs of under 5s is required. An understanding of the principles of In the Moment Planning would be an advantage.

The manager is responsible for all aspects of day to day care and running of the nursery and reports to the Managing Director and Finance Manager. We are a family-run business with three nurseries across Bristol; the nurseries are supported by a Head Office team.

A working knowledge of desktop software, the nursery free entitlement system and local authority reporting requirements.

An understanding of local safeguarding procedures.

An embedded understanding of child development and how children learn, and how to try and understand and support a child’s behaviour.

An embedded understanding of the EYFS and Development Matters.

A sense of fun, a love of working with children and a desire to help staff learn, develop and fulfil their potential.

The successful applicant will also actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring nursery policies and procedures are observed at all times.
