We’re looking for an experienced and ambitious Preschool Room Leader to co-manage our large Preschool. Our Preschool takes up to 36 children per day who are aged between 3 and 4 with six members of staff. You will be expected to have a small key group of children and plan for their individual needs, you will not only need to build strong relationships with these parents but also all of the parents of the children attending the preschool. You will need to jointly reflect on practice to continually improve the outcomes and opportunities for the children as well as be responsible for resourcing the room with an agreed budget and supporting the staff’s professional development. The preschool room is spacious and comfortable, with space to inspire curiosity in groups of children as well as foster self-confidence in small child-sized spaces. We now have a large interactive whiteboard. We have a large varied outdoor area, access to our community allotment and fish to help care for. As well as helping to run the preschool, you will work with the Centre’s other Room Leaders and Senior Management Team to agree strategy and develop practice. Furthermore, as a Room Leader you will have the opportunity, and support, to progress in your own area of interest. As an independent charity, ECCC is able to react quickly to changes and adapt services and approaches to best suit children and families’ needs.

 

 Candidates:

•To have a flexible, co-operative can-do approach and to be willing to accept direction and instruction. With the ability to stay calm under pressure and work with interruptions in a busy environment.
•Understanding of and commitment to Safeguarding & Child Protection.
•Excellent spoken and written English
•Ability to direct others, deliver routines, maintain protocols and manage conflicting workloads.
•Ability to resolve conflicts and communicate difficult messages.
•Ability to see the bigger picture and work towards longer term goals.

 

Qualifications:

Recognised Level 3 Childcare qualification, two years’ practical Early Years experience and experience of leadership and/or practice development.

 

Contract, Salary & Hours:

Permanent

£21,525 – £24,600

39-hrs with varying shifts
