Out There Forest School: 2 x Early Years Practitioners
Out There Forest school & Kindergarten: 2 x early years practitioners
“ You should sit in nature for at least 20 minutes a day…unless you’re busy. Then you should sit for an hour”.
There’s no better time to work outdoors. And there’s no better time for children to have frequent opportunities to access green spaces and play outside in nature.
Spending time in nature has significant benefits on everyone’s health and wellbeing.
We are an adventurous and progressive outdoor Kindergarten with a strong focus on child led free play in a woodland setting. Our vision and ethos promotes social and emotional wellbeing, social skills, interactive hands on learning and nature connection.
We are looking for 2 x early years practitioners with Forest School experience and qualification to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be resilient, high-energy and committed to providing an outstanding early years education in an outdoor environment.
You will have a good understanding of how children learn and develop and be able to scaffold for child-led, play-based learning.
We need: 2 x Qualified Level 3 or above Early Years Practitioners or people willing to work towards a level 3 qualification with Forest School Leader Level 3 (you might currently be working towards this qualification).
Locations: Stapleton, Bristol, BS16 1UQ and Brislington, Bristol, BS4 4DY
Days: Ideally 4 days a week Monday to Thursday (approx 34 hours a week) term time only but we will consider a 3 day a week arrangement
Hours: You will be on a rota with the earliest start time being 7.30 and the latest finish time being 17.45.
Start date: Ideally you will be able to join the team for the last few weeks of term starting on Monday 28th June or thereabouts with the view to starting with your key group on Monday 6th September.
Salary: Dependent on qualification and experience. The salary working 34 hours a week for 38 weeks a year would likely be between 13,889.00 and 16,150 (actual, not pro rota). Pro rota Equivalent £19,006 – £22,100.
Job requirements: Experience of working with children aged 2-5 years old and a level 3 in childcare or above (or a willingness to enrol on a level 3 course) is essential. Forest school experience is also essential. You might be working towards your FS level 3 qualification. You’ll be flexible, with strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Holiday work: Although the kindergarten runs term time only we run a holiday club for 4-11 year olds in October, Easter, May and Summer. Everyone who works at the Kindie is expected to work at least one week but more hours are available on request. We are open for a total of 44 weeks a year.
