We are looking for a qualified and experienced Room Leader to join the ECCC family to help lead our under 2’s room, Bumblebees! This role is 37.5 hours per week with a 1.30pm finish on Fridays. We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups and those which reflect our local community.
We are an independent charity in the heart of Easton committed to quality, child-centred early education. Our children love the Centre for its huge garden which inspires risky and messy play of all kinds. Attached to our excellent outdoor provision we have a studio offering woodwork, clay and other medias as well as an allotment, and are in the process of implementing a forest school program commencing in the new year.
Collaboratively with a Senior Room Leader (who oversees both rooms for the under 3’s), you will encourage and motivate a team of staff, drawing on their skills and interests to maintain the best possible learning opportunities and environments available to our children.
Anti-racist practice and trauma informed approaches are at the heart of everything we do, from our curriculum and learning environment all the way through to our policies, leadership approaches and staff wellbeing commitments. We are proud of the role we play as educators in our community and are dedicated to developing quality practice and thinking about the ‘bigger picture’.
All leaders have opportunities to develop their own knowledge and skills in all aspects of early education through regular training (in house and externally) as well as attending 6-weekly supervisions. Room Leaders have a huge influence on ECCC’s policy and practice. Candidate Profile:
Are you:
- Passionate about early years education and inspiring young minds and leading a dedicated team?

Qualifications & Experience:
- Early Years/Education Qualification (Level 3 or higher) (required)
- At least one years’ UK Early Years experience working with 0-2 years
- At least one years’ experience of managing other staff members
Experience:
- Childcare: 2 years (required)
- Management/Leadership: 1 year (required)
Work authorisation:
- United Kingdom (required)

- Our Centre was established in 1985 and moved to its current location in 1999. We are an independent charity who is able to react quickly to changes and adapt our approaches to best suit children, family and staff needs.
