BAND offers Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks to our Full, Affiliated & Associate member groups, for paid or voluntary staff working with either children or young people and vulnerable adults.
Visit: https://www.gov.uk/find-out-dbs-check to check if your paid staff or volunteers are eligible for DBS checks.
BAND can process up to 50 checks per group per year. We cannot run checks on staff who would normally be checked by Ofsted, if you’d like clarification please contact BAND on 0117 954 2128.
If you are already a Full, Affiliated or Associate member of BAND and you would like to contract into the DBS Check system, you can email us at email@example.com.

*Must meet the DBS definition of a volunteer. The DBS definition of a volunteer is defined in the Police Act 1997 (criminal records) Regulations 2002 as:
“Any person engaged in an activity which involves spending time, unpaid (except for travel and other approved out-of-pocket expenses), doing something which aims to benefit some third party and not a close relative.”
