Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership (children)

Child Protection is based on the law. Section 14 of the Children’s Act 2004 says that people working with children need to support families when there are early signs that they are struggling. It also says that people working with children need to talk to each other to prevent children being hurt. The Keeping Children Safe group works with everyone in Bristol to make sure people follow the law to keep children as safe as possible. The Keeping Children Safe group are also responsible for looking at whether services are doing a good job, and then paying for those services to keep going if they are positive for children.

Some of the things the Keeping Children Safe group do;

They do a Needs Assessment to decide what their goals (known as Priorities) are for Bristol
They use these goals to create a Business Plan which gives the Keeping Children Safe group a list of actions to do. These actions also line up with the bigger group, the Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership goals.
Check that the actions on the Business Plan are being done and tell the bigger group, the Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership, how things are going.
Once a year, the Keeping Children Safe group have to write a big report to send to the Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership.
Every three months, the KCS has to give the KBSP data about how good their actions have been and whether they have worked.
