Children decorate rocks with paints, Sharpie pens or nail varnish, and then leave them lying around, partially hidden in places where other children will easily find them. It’s a giant game of hide and seek with rocks all over the city. Places can be everywhere from the top of a slide in a park, to the trolley bay at a local supermarket. It could be on someone’s doorstep, or lying around a playing field. The idea is that, as well as the bright decorations, the bottom of the stone contains a message, maybe, a name, or definitely the ‘Bristol Rocks Facebook Page’ name. Then, other people look for the rocks and when they find them they can either keep them, or hide them again. As part of Bristol Rocks you could paint a rock and put “BAND 40 <NAME OF SETTING> BRISTOL ROCKS” underneath and leave them lying around. People who find them take a photo and paste on the Bristol Rocks Facebook page.
