The Foundation make small one-off project grants of between £200 and £2,000 (occasionally £2,500) with no matched funding requirement to registered charities within the UK whose activities are specifically for the benefit of the mentally and physically disabled of all ages. Appeals should be for specific projects, and the Trustees do not support core costs, such as salaries, research, major development costs. All grants are made on a one-off basis with no ongoing commitment. Appeals are accepted from registered charitable organisations only.

Applications for grants must be made by letter setting out in brief concise detail:
o The clear objectives of the appeal.
o The details of funding already available, including details of self-help.
o A timetable for the project, and
o A copy of the applicant’s latest audited accounts.
The Foundation meets four times a year, in the first week of March, June, September and December, and requests that applications should be submitted at least two weeks before each meeting. The next application deadline should therefore be considered as Saturday 20 February 2021, with further deadlines in late May and late November.
