Where & when are the courses?

Sessions are held in accessible venues in North, South and Central/East Bristol. Courses are held in the daytime and evening and occasionally on Saturdays.

What’s the cost?

Bristol City Councils’ Early Years & Childcare Service currently funds part of BAND’s training programme and to extend the range of courses offered, BAND also raises funds from charities and trusts.

This allows us to offer the majority of courses for free to most Bristol Based play and childcare workers in Ofsted registered settings & member groups.
For individual course cost click on the course directly. We do offer 10% discount to non-Bristol BAND member groups.


How Do I Book?

Online Booking request system.

  • You can request up to 2 places on any upcoming course using the embedded form on the page for that course.
  • This will pass you request directly to the BAND team without you having to send a separate email.
  • Because the demand for BAND courses is high, we cannot guarantee the allocation of your place(s) via the website, but once you have completed the course place request , all you have to do is wait to hear from our training team.
  • If BAND cannot fit you on the course you requested, you will be offered a chance to be on the waiting list for the next course.

How to use the new booking form.

  • Complete the fields on the booking form, and select your course from the drop-down menu. If you have missed a mandatory field this will be indicated with a red star.
  • Once you have completed all the fields, press then blue ‘submit’ button.
  • You will be asked to verify that you are not a computer by completing a photographic CAPTACHA test On some smaller screens you may have to scroll up slightly to see the top of the test panel.
  • Once you have completed this test, the page will notify you that your request has been completed.
  • You will also receive an email to the address you submitted in the form , confirming you course place request has been received.
  • Once BAND’s training team have processed your request, they will let you know, via email, if you have been allocated a space on the course.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

• 48 hours’ notice of cancellation is required for all bookings.
• For cancellations of less than 48 hours and no shows, we will charge a £50 cancellation fee.
• The setting will receive an invoice for this fee and won’t be able to book on or attend any further courses until the cancellation has been paid. Please note: This includes places that may have already been booked.

Childcare: A contribution towards costs at £4 per hour (not per child) for Bristol-based groups only.
Travel: Limited travel costs available for Bristol-based groups.
