Please Note: this course is Level 2 equivalent training that is certificated by BAND. It is not a qualification.

This 10 session course is an introduction to the key aspects of supporting play opportunities for children and young people 4 to 16 years in a variety of play settings. It will:

  • Provide an understanding of the importance and value of play in children and young people’s lives.
  • Increase knowledge of playwork practice including play theory and the role of a playworker.
  • Explore equality, diversity and inclusion, the benefits of risk vs health & safety and child protection.

  10. The Play Environment and Reflective Practice.

As part of this course there will be some homestudy and 3 workplace tasks.

Please Note: You must be over 16 and currently working as a volunteer or paid worker in a play environment with children aged 4-16yrs.
