Places on this course are limited and priority will be given to play and childcare staff who regularly work outdoors with children and Forest School Leaders.  Those who have attended a Paediatric First Aid course within the last year are not eligible for a free place on this course.

Course content:

  • What is meant by First Aid.
  • How to manage incidents such as an unconscious casualty, choking, bleeding, asthma and  anaphylaxis, burns and scalds, fractures, febrile convulsions, shock, anaphylactic shock, head, neck and back injuries, poisoning, bites and stings, the effects of extreme heat and cold.
  • The recovery position and resuscitation.
  • Chronic medical conditions.
  • What should be in a First Aid kit.
