This is a national course developed by the Safer Recruitment Consortium to provide participants with a range of skills and knowledge to effectively recruit paid and unpaid staff in play/childcare settings, in line with current safeguarding legislation and equal opportunity practices.

Course content:

  • Identify the key features of safer recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
  • Consider policies and practice that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its’ prompt reporting.
  • Have an assessment of learning from the course.

It is essential that participants complete the whole course. It is not possible to leave early.

Cost: Free for Bristol-based Ofsted registered childcare workers and Bristol BAND members. £70 all others, 10% discount to non-Bristol BAND member groups.
